The author presents a very detailed history of the Palatines in new York where he was a pastor of High-Dutch churches in Schoharie and Saugerties. He gives briefer acounts of the settlements around Berks County, Pennsylvania, and in the other colonies. The text is well written, contains may quotations from contemporary documents and various authorities, has citations to sources, and is illustrated with maps showing the communities of the Palatinate, in New York and around Berks County.
